New Addition to NENA’s Staff Team

NENA is thrilled to announce the newest addition to our staff. Lauren Hazenson will join us as the new Program and Communication Manager on March 1, 2017.Lauren

A lifelong lover of nonprofits and the Twin Cities community, Lauren discovered her passion for volunteering and local service when her parents took her to Alliance of the Streets Minneapolis (now St. Stephen’s) every Thanksgiving growing up. Lauren also discovered an affinity for environmental science when she attended the School of Environmental Studies in Apple Valley as a teenager. She has over 7 years of experience in volunteer, program, and communications management, serving at a variety of Midwestern organizations, including Community Thread and Be The Match. Part of her past work has included community and school garden development, change management, service learning programs, disaster recovery, and large community volunteer events.

Lauren is also a resident of the Minnehaha neighborhood, where she enjoys walking to the local parks with her husband and her dog.

Lauren will be working with the Housing, Commercial and Streetscape Committee and projects, the Green Initiatives Committee and projects and leading our communication outreach. The heart of our work will remain connecting our neighborhood and building community.

Welcome Lauren – we are glad you are a part of our team!
