This is your neighborhood. This is your opportunity. This is your time to get involved.
Nokomis East’s 2016 Annual Meeting will provide updates on what the organization has been working on and the plans for the future. It’s also an opportunity for members of our community to get involved. Each year neighbors from all over East Nokomis gather at this annual event, coming together to make their neighborhoods a better, stronger, and healthier place to live.
The 2016 Annual NENA meeting will be held Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at the Crosstown Covenant Church, 5540 30th Ave S. There will be plenty of things to discuss and plan at this year’s meeting.
At the meeting residents can learn about countless prospects for involvement in the neighborhood, from joining the Board of Directors, to serving on a committee, volunteering at events, and many other ongoing NENA activities.
The meeting will include:
• Food from Carbone’s Pizza and Berry Sweet Kitchen
• Opportunity to visit and see your neighbors
• The NENA neighborhood report
• Presentation of the NENA strategic plan
• Election of board members
• NENA volunteer awards
• Free childcare
• Spanish interpreters
At our annual meeting, we hold elections for Board of Directors positions. In 2016, NENA has eight Board seats up for election – two seats from each of the neighborhoods of Keewaydin, Minneahaha and Wenonah. NENA is a growing community-based nonprofit organization serving four unique, welcoming neighborhoods with over 17,000 residents and dozens of businesses in the southeast corner of Minneapolis. NENA is dedicated to bettering the quality of life and building a sense of community pride by sponsoring actions which help our environment, businesses and homes.
