In November, Jerome Evans of the Minnehaha neighborhood was appointed to fill a recently vacated At Large seat on the Board of Directors. Jerome is a part of the NENA’s Finance and Fundraising Committee and leads the Events Team.
Jerome shared, “My experiences in the neighborhood has been profoundly positive! I moved to Minneapolis from Atlanta and, while I do still love the South, living here has allowed me to experience natural recreation areas like Lake Nokomis Park and Minnehaha Park for the first time. It’s a lovely and very livable neighborhood!”
During his time on the NENA Board, he hopes, “for the community to feel more connected. I’d also like for the neighborhood to have a large event or point of pride that can differentiate us from the other neighborhoods in the cities. I would like to see us develop more programs for our neighbors to take advantage of, develop some earned income to further diversify our revenue stream, and start producing some more branded items for our neighbors to show off!
As the leader of the Fundraising Events Team I intend to be a very visible and audible presence at most NENA events. Therefore my primary communication style will be face to face. That said, I will also work with the Communications Team to advance our culture of fundraising through social media posts, articles in the quarterly newsletter, and through our website.”
We are glad that Jerome has joined the NENA team!
