What will Nokomis East look like in 20 years? How will it accommodate commercial, housing, and other resource needs as Minneapolis grows?
The City of Minneapolis Comprehensive Plan covers issues such as housing, job creation, the design of new buildings, and how we use our streets. Minneapolis 2040, the next Comprehensive Plan, will be used as a guide for city officials, developers, neighborhood groups like NENA, and other community stakeholders. The City of Minneapolis consults the Comprehensive Plan when a developer submits a building proposal, a street rebuilding project is being considered, affordable housing is planned, among other uses.
Minneapolis 2040 is gathering input from residents and businesses, which will be considered when the Comprehensive Plan draft is created. NENA is hosting a Comprehensive Plan Input Session to gather as much feedback from Nokomis East residents and businesses as possible. We will then submit comments gathered during this session to City staff.
