  • MPRB Nokomis-Hiawatha Master Plan Open House

    Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Where: Lake Nokomis Community Center, 2401 E Minnehaha Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55417, USA

    Details:

Attend May 25 Open House to give feedback on possible amendments to Nokomis-Hiawatha Master Plan
Possible amendments include Urban Agriculture areas and redesign of Nokomis Athletic Fields

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is hosting a Community Open House to get feedback on two potential amendments to the Nokomis-Hiawatha Master Plan. The open house is set for Thursday, May 25, 6-8 pm at Lake Nokomis Community Center, 2401 East Minnehaha Parkway.

One amendment would create a designated urban agriculture area on the east side of Lake Hiawatha. Another amendment would finalize a design concept for the Nokomis Athletic Fields located on the northwest side of Lake Nokomis.

The Nokomis-Hiawatha Master Plan was approved by MPRB Commissioners on March 4, 2015. The Master Plan is a written and graphic document that sets a 25-year vision for Lake Hiawatha, Lake Nokomis, and the surrounding parkland. Both the proposed Urban Agriculture areas and Nokomis Athletic Field design concept were not included in the Master Plan, so amendments are required to move forward with those projects.

There's no formal presentation scheduled, so attend any time between 6 pm and 8 pm! All park users are encouraged to show up and share their opinions!

    Open House
    Date: May 25, 2017
    Time: 6-8 pm
    Location: Lake Nokomis Community Center
    Address: 2401 East Minnehaha Parkway
Topic: Review and comment on two potential amendments to the Nokomis-Hiawatha Master Plan.
